Western Forest Insect Collection

The Western Forest Insect Collection (WFIC) was created from the combined individual collections from numerous U.S. Forest Service experimental stations from west of the Rocky Mountains.

Each of the specimens in the WFIC has a Hopkins # associated with it that connects it to a body of field notes. These notes were computerized into a USFS database known as HUSSI. OSAC is investigating ways to serve as a convenient portal to the HUSSI database and seeking funds to generate and integrate high resolution images of the WFIC specimens with the HUSSI database.
