Dr. David Lytle
Dr. David Lytle is a faculty member of the OSU Zoology Department. His lab studies the evolutionary and ecological adaptations occurring in habitats characterized by periodic but relatively unpredictable catastrophic events. His field work takes place in the sky island mountains of Arizona, and centers on the biology, evolution and ecology of Abedus - an endemic flighless belostomatid.
Dr. Lytle is also involved in a research project to develop automated identification tools for arthropods. Dr. Lytle has used the collections and resources at OSAC to help with identifications and has regularly desposited voucher material from his research projects.
