Dragonfly & Damselfly Workshop

Our first Dragonfly Workshop was held on OSU's campus on March 8th and was a huge success. Between the morning beginner's session and the afternoon advanced session, over 40 participants spent the day learning about Dragonflies and Damselflies. Participants came from as far away as Gold Beach and Bend Oregon.

Instructors, Jim Johnson, Steve Valley and Cary Kerst, of the Oregon Dragonfly Survey, put on an outstanding series of presentations. Workshop organizers: Jim Young, Alan Mudge and Christopher Marshall, all officers of the Oregon Entomological Society, made sure that things ran smoothly and that participants had ample reference materials and specimens.

In between the two workshop sessions, Dr. Dennis Paulson, from Univeristy of Puget Sound, delivered an informative and well-attended lecture on Dragonflies from around the World. All in all, it was a fun and educational day. Check back for information on future workshops.
