OSAC's Hemiptera holdings contains several noteworthy collections. The Auchennorhyncha and Sternorhyncha, historically called the 'Homoptera', are represented by a large slide collection of Aphids and an exceptional collection of plant hoppers (Cicadellidae) was produced over the lengthy tenure of Paul Oman. Other taxa, such as Fulgoridae, Cicadidae, are also well represented.
Thanks to the efforts of Jack Lattin, our Heteroptera Collection is outstanding. Jack Lattin was Curator/Director of the collection for many years, during which time heteropteran groups including the Miridae, Lygaeidae, Pentatomidae, etc. were significantly expanded.
