Oregon State Arthropod Collection (OSAC) Website. version 3.0 (September 2014)

Begun in 2010, the OSAC website is now in its third iteration.  Built using Drupal, an open source content management system (CMS), the website provides a means by which we can link specimen and other museum-related data (such as taxonomic information) with news and stories about them.  Built on a complex datamodel, the database stores information not only about the specimens, but their names as well as information about the people and places associated with those specimens.  New or modified content and features are added regularly to improve the online ontent and to improve both the user experience as well as management practices (e.g., specimen loans, accessions, etc) of the museum itself.
