Christopher J. Marshall

Christopher Marshall is the Curator and Collection Manager for the Oregon State Arthropod Collection.  His interests are in the systematics and taxonomy of the Scarabaeoidea (scarab beetles and their close relatives), especially local PNW Scarabaeoidea as well as members of the Passalidae (which do not occur here).  In addition to systematics and taxonomy - Dr. Marshall works to ensure that OSU's research collection is well cared for and up to the most recent curatorial practices.   He instigated the museum's digitization project soon after he arrived - which continues today and has worked to bring both research and curatorial grant money to the museum to help hire student employees and improve the physical and digital condition of this valuable resource.  He works with regional, national and international colleagues involved in major projects to better share and disseminate biodiversity data based on museum specimens.
